Why You NEED A Morning Routine

The majority of successful Entrepreneurs have a morning routine. Sit with that. . .

Starting your day off right gives you FOCUS and a huge burst of energy. It sets the intention that you’re ready to get shit done and OWN the day.

So, how do we do that?

Get your ass out of bed EARLY. Sleeping in feels amazing, but have you noticed how easy it is to OVERSLEEP and feel groggy all day? No one accomplishes anything when they're tired AF. Set that alarm and start your day with no excuses! You can accomplish so much before the rest of the world is awake.

If you’re not naturally a morning person, you can LEARN to be one. Try going to bed earlier each night gradually and set your alarm earlier for each morning. You need to retrain your internal clock, it’s easier to do it gradually instead of shocking your system with a dramatic change.

Do you always reach for your phone first thing? STOP THAT. If you start scrolling first thing, chances are that’s what you’re gunna focus on the rest of the day. Instead, REFOCUS your energy. Meditation is one of the best ways to do this. Why? It allows you time to connect with your higher self. Turning on your intuition allows space for INSPIRATION to flow freely to you throughout the day.

Another great thing to do is to keep a journal ion your nightstand. Write down any dreams, ideas, or thoughts that popped up in dream state or just as you wake up. When we sleep our logic is less active, making it easier for us to receive intuitive messages and ideas.

If your body and brain aren’t nourished, nothing productive happens. Sit down and have a GOOD protein filled breakfast that will give you lasting energy. Leave the sugary cereal and pastries, you’re more likely to have an afternoon energy crash with them.

Getting a good workout in is also essential. Getting your sweat on releases endorphins, which trigger a positive feeling in the body. These boost mood and energy for a few hours in addition to leaving a feel good buzz for 24 hours.

This depends on YOUR preferences. If you’re a pen and paper girl, get a notebook, planner, or calendar. If you like using tech, try google calendar or Trello boards. Make sure its functional AND inspiring.

No matter what you choose, start out with a to-do list. Make sure you’re including enough to keep busy but don’t take on TOO much, being burnt out helps no one. Physically block time out for your tasks and set a timer (or notifications from google calendar) if you have trouble staying on task.

Everyone has a different version of the “ideal” morning routine, you need to find what works for YOU.

If something isn’t working, don’t be afraid to change things up. Remember, research says it takes about 21 days to establish a new habit. Be gentle with yourself. Like with all things,

go with the flow and TRUST the process!
